Lamborghini Urus common problems and MOT failures
What goes wrong on a used Lamborghini Urus, year by year: known faults from UK buying guides, the parts flagged at MOT more than on other cars (from 2,056 MOTs done during 2023–2025), and what to check before you buy one.
The 2025 Lamborghini Urus
Cars registered in 2025 haven’t had their first MOT yet (it’s due at 3 years old), so there are no MOT results to show. There are no known faults on record for this year in the UK buying guides we use, so the rest of this page covers the Lamborghini Urus as a whole.
What to check on a 2025 car
- Warranty left
Ask for the date it was first registered and check how much of the maker’s warranty is left, and that it transfers to you. Electric and hybrid batteries usually have a longer, separate warranty.
- Servicing
Servicing on time with the maker’s schedule keeps the warranty valid. Ask for the service book or the dealer’s digital record.
- Finance
Nearly new cars are often still on finance. A history check shows outstanding finance, and whether it has been written off or stolen.
- Recalls
Ask whether any recall work has been done, and check the reg on GOV.UK’s free recall checker.
- Logbook (V5C)
The name and address should match the seller, and the VIN on the V5C should match the car.
Other years
Most years have their own guide. The year is when the car was first registered (it’s on the logbook, or check the reg below).

Fuel line fire-risk recall
Uruses from the 2019 and 2020 model years were recalled in December 2020 because quick-release connectors on the fuel lines could soften in the heat of the engine bay, a possible fire risk.

Main dealer servicing is expensive
One UK Lamborghini dealer quoted about £1,070 for the annual service and about £2,360 for the major service (plugs, air filter and gearbox oil) in 2022. Few independent specialists publish prices.
At the viewing: Ask for the full service history, ideally all at Lamborghini dealers, and check when the next major service is due.

Carbon ceramic brakes
Carbon ceramic brakes are standard, with 440mm front discs. They last well on the road but cost a lot to replace if worn or damaged.
At the viewing: Look at the discs for chips, cracks or a worn edge, and ask when the brakes were last checked.

Infotainment screens going dark
Owners have reported the touchscreens occasionally going blank.
At the viewing: Use both screens during the test drive: sat nav, climate and drive modes.
- Cars registered 2018–2024 · Cars with dealer-fitted soft-close doors
Soft-close doors sticking
Soft-close doors were a dealer-fitted option, and some have stuck or not dropped the window slightly as the door closes.
At the viewing: Open and close every door and watch the window drop and rise.
Lamborghini Urus MOT pass rate by year
Of the years since 2005 with plenty of MOT tests, the 2019 Lamborghini Urus did best (94% passed first time, 9 points above all 2019 cars) and the 2020 did worst (95%, 8 points above all 2020 cars). Older cars fail more, so compare each year with all cars registered the same year.
Questions to ask the seller before buying a Lamborghini Urus
Ask before you travel to see it. A seller who knows the car will have answers, and receipts.
- Has the December 2020 fuel line recall been done, and is it in the service record?
- Has it been serviced every year at a Lamborghini dealer, and when is the next major service due?
- Have the brake discs or pads ever been replaced?
- Can I see the service history and receipts for any big jobs?
